Not dead. I don't know why I can't get motivated to update my lj more. Fail.

I've been running and swimming and stuff. I've lost 30 lbs since September and lost 2-3 pants sizes.

Currently jobless, although sending out some resumes this week, I guess.

Not really a whole lot new or interesting, since I'm basically either spending my time exercising or blogsurfing. Hooray.

I'm not really dead, I just haven't updated in forever. I do check lj like, constantly, so I've been dutifully reading everyone's posts.

I've been faux-busy, but mostly not really motivated to update. As you do.

So, here's what I've been up to!

- I've been spending a lot of time running and swimming and otherwise working out. Mostly running. I've lost about 25 lbs since September. I completed C25k, and I ran my first 5k on 12/12 in Holly, finishing in 33:07. I'm currently working on an 8k program for running right now. I <3 running. I also got an offer I couldn't refuse from a gym, so I try to hit the pool 4-5 days a week. Hoping we'll get some real snow so I can go nordic skiing.

- I've been working as a very, very part-time freight processor at The Limited for the holidays. Pay is great, hours are horrifically meager. Don't think I'll be hired on. Whatever.

- Messiah's done for choir, next term is finishing up the Mahler 2 (or, In Which Liss Pretends She's a Tenor), and the Mozart Requiem (Snore).

- Watching way too much tv. Mad Men (AMC) season 3 started pretty slowly, but the last few episodes are ace. If you don't mind a few D: moments, Sons of Anarchy (FX) is AMAZING. Wasn't as impressed with S4 of Dexter (SHO) as most people were, but I was a little spoiled and I think I also got overhyped. The Good Wife (CBS) is pleasingly mediocre. As for comedies, I'm still watching 30 Rock (NBC) and Better Off Ted (ABC). Both solid, although BOT is a bit stiffer than I like.

- Have found lots of awesome music. Am currently on a bit of nujazz/acid jazz/jazz, period kick. Discovered I have somehow acquired a taste for really, really highly conceptual jazz. The stuff that you have to sit and pay attention to and isn't very nice. I'm not sure how that happened.

- Still don't have license, am not going to school this term, bah humbug.

Not dead. Lots of stuff to say, will do real entry later.

I am not at all where I wanted to be as of November 3, and I've got no good excuses, unlike orange_avocado. I've got a very, very basic idea of what kind of story I want to do for my NaNoWriMo story, but no characters or, you know, actual plot. Bleh. I suppose I could deal with no plot, but having no characters is kind of an issue. Hahaha.

I'm also already behind on my exercise plans for the month. Not by much, but...enough. This would be less of an issue if I didn't have a very specific, slightly ambitious goal for December 1st. It's bad enough that this is an 'up' week on my weekly yoyo diet.


Back to NaNoWriMo, I was really hoping the fora would be a bit more useful. Bleh. Maybe the bpal.org nanowrimo thread will be more useful? Hrm.

I'm sorry, this is SUCH a fucking bullshit question and totally insulting to anyone with mental illness.

Sooooo my laptop is in the shop for the next 2-4 weeks while they decide if it's repairable or if I'm getting my 3rd new laptop in under a year.

I swear, it's my mutant power or something. I don't even know.

I miss Victor already.

Spilled quite a bit of water on Victor. At least it was only water, I guess, although he was sounding a little...sparky earlier. But it just figures, you know?

I had thought that my right foot was mostly healed up, but it definitely appears that it hasn't. I'm not really sure what I can do. I can't, like, not use my right foot, but my doctors were singularly unhelpful about, oh, everything. It doesn't help that whatever tendon I've pulled apears to be an relatively unusual injury. Because of course it is.

I want to cry.

Tell me how to cook rice. I've managed to fail utterly. Again. That's right, I am 24 years old and cannot successfully cook rice.


(No, I'm not buying a cooker. I don't like rice except for fried rice and rice pudding, and I don't eat either of those near enough for the cash outlay for a cooker.)
